    What is Mixed Martial arts?

Mixed martial arts (MMA) is a full contact combat sport that allows the use of both striking (boxing, muay thai) and grappling (wrestling and jiu jitsu) techniques, both standing and on the ground, from a variety of other combat sports. The roots of modern mixed martial arts can be traced way back to the ancient Olympics.

    What is Crosstrain?

Crosstrain is a brand new mixed martial arts (MMA) club in India. Launching in Jan, 2013, Crosstrain will be the first of its kind training facility in the country with a singular focus of offering the best and the authentic training experience to its members.

How is the Crosstrain different from other big chains which offer Boxing or Muay Thai?

Very different. We have very little similarity to a standard fitness gym. We are a club which is completely focussed on mixed martial arts. Its just not one of the several things we do. We do MMA and we do it the best.

    Crosstrain will specialise in MMA

What can we expect in Crosstrain that we don’t see in other big chains?

For starters we will be teaching grappling techniques in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as well as Greco Roman wrestling which are not taught in any big chains. Also with Boxing and Muay Thai (kick boxing), we will use authentic combinations, drills and techniques which are used by world class ‘Fighters’ in their training routines. We may not be as big as the MNC fitness clubs but we don’t need to be. We specialise in MMA and we know our quality and authenticity will make us stand out.

Is this club for hardcore fighters or for ‘normal’ people?

Ok so let me put it this way, even though MMA is a combat sport and people have highly biased preconceived notions about what this sport is about. Martial arts is about humility and respect. We at Crosstrain are determined to ensure that we provide the best workout and the best skill development in the country. The primary focus of most people is to get into shape and that matches with our vision too. Majority of our sessions will be centred around the 2 f’s, fitness and fun. This is, however, not to deter any serious fighters as we will strategically carry out focussed and serious sparring  and training sessions for advanced level members.  At the end of the day building world championships is our dream.

Which MMA clubs have you driven inspiration from?

Urban Kings Gym, Minotaur Thai Boxing Gym, Archway Jiu Jistu, Islington Boxing Club and God Wars gym all based in the UK.
